I've been eyeing the plays of Federico Garcia Lorca for a very long time, not daring to approach them in English translation and not having enough Spanish knowledge to read them in the original. Needless to say, when I finally got my hands on "Bodas de sangre" (Blood Weddings"), I became obsessed with his work in less than mere seconds. Garcia Lorca has an incredible talent for portraying the most tragic and emotional stories with the poetic and flowering language that made me stop at every single line and exhale in admiration. But my true love for him came with the poems, with his "Romancero gitano", which still echoes in my memory every time I see something remotely poetic.
